Our Products

We have various kinds of containers ranging from high cube, open top, tunnel, open side, refrigerated, double door and customized containers.

Side opening shipping containers

Side opening shipping containers are modified containers that make it easier to access your goods and stored items via additional doors positioned on the side. They come standard in a 20 foot size, with a side opening 40 foot modified shipping container also available upon request. These containers come with solid timber flooring and are naturally also equipped with our versatile double doors at the front that open to 270 degrees.

Refrigerated Shipping Containers

Refrigerated shipping containers are the ideal way to transport and store goods that require reliable temperature-controlled facilities. When shipping or storing meat, cheese, dairy or seafood, a refrigerated container, also known as a ‘reefer’, is an absolute must-have. Fruits, flowers and many vegetables also need a steady temperature to make sure they arrive at their destination in their best condition, though they may only require an insulated container – it really does depend on the product, how far you are shipping, and how long the journey takes.

Customized Shipping Containers

Ship Container Shop specializes in shipping container modifications, building practical, cost effective solutions to suit your needs. Our shipping container customization are no exception when in comes to innovative design and construction. We can build anything (for example) from a robust 10 ft, 20 ft or 40 ft shipping container with a near endless range of Container Accessories including servery windows, hydraulic decks, remote controlled awnings and more.

High Cube Shipping containers

High cube shipping containers are similar to standard, general purpose shipping containers, and offer all the same strength, durability and security. Their difference lies in the extra height they offer – a whole extra foot. Which may not sound like much, but it really can make all the difference. For instance, a high cube 40 foot container give you an extra 344 cubic feet of storage capacity over a standard 40 foot shipping container!

Open Top Shipping Containers

Shipping bulk goods that need to be loaded by crane require a form of specialised shipping container called an open top shipping container. The result of another clever ‘out of the box’ modification to the original general purpose shipping containers, open top shipping containers are designed to transport bulky or heavy cargo that either won’t fit through normal container doors, or else require a crane for efficient loading. General industrial goods, pipes, steel bars, cables, iron ore, mining materials and logs are just some examples of the types of goods that can be transported in an open top shipping container.

Open top shipping containers help make loading bulk goods with a crane easy and efficient, and at Global West Shipping Containers, we have 20 foot and 40 foot open top shipping containers available both for sale and for hire.

Insulated shipping containers

Unlike refrigerated containers, which have a power source and controlled temperature range, insulated containers rely on their insulation properties to maintain a steady temperature throughout. This is an advantage if your goods are being shipped a relatively short distance, when no power is available, or when a regular temperature is all that’s required rather than refrigeration. For instance, pre-cooled cargo from cold storage can be used with an insulated shipping container to maintain a cold chain very successfully on short trips, and many goods don’t even require cooling methods at all – the insulation of the container itself is enough to keep the goods in perfect condition. Insulated shipping containers are also increasingly being used for storage and accommodation as well.

Buy a Shipping Container

The need to buy shipping containers for sale is ubiquitous. And as such it’ll come as no surprise to find out that at any given moment there are over 17 million shipping containers transporting goods and cargo all over the world, every single day. Originally designed to transport goods by sea, the strong, versatile and portable features of shipping containers have seen them pressed into service in all sorts of ways that couldn’t have been imagined when they were first designed as a simple, but effective way to store and transport cargo by sea.
